Swizz – Re-Introducing Fondue to New Yorkers

Back in the 1970’s, no food was more “in” than fondue in American culture. In fact, it would be a true rarity if newlyweds did not receive a fondue set from a friend or family member as part of a wedding registry. Those days are gone, however.  Fondue is now mostly viewed as a novelty or fad—similar to the pet rock, lava lamp, and bell bottom jeans. But unbeknownst to most Americans who did not experience the fondue takeover in the 1970’s, fondue is hardly a fad, but instead, a long-living tradition in Swiss cuisine.
