The sandwich in New York is often synonymous with delicatessen–and in most cases, Katz’s Deli. This is because in the glorious glory days, delicatessens in New York were about as abundant as Starbucks is now. Sounds like heaven, right? That is obviously no longer the case, yet New Yorkers still look to delis to serve as the golden standards for how a sandwich should look and who’s making it.  At No. 7 Sub, located near the Ace Hotel, you won’t find traditional deli meats, but you will, however, find a wide assortment of fresh ingredients, and very inventive sandwiches.     I’ll have to try this sometime because it sounds really vile! But I can’t believe you’d give it such a glowing recommendation if it was as bad as it sounds – so I’ll have to try it!!

      Certainly unorthodox, but not vile! “The sandwich” is one of the best food inventions of all time–might as well push the line with it, right?
